Be part of creating brighter futures by supporting young people in building skills, experiences, and connections needed to gain employment and create career paths. It is your gift to Elpis that allows us to provide a supportive environment and community where our trainees can thrive and end the cycle of homelessness.
Elpis Enterprises is a recognized nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization and is registered with the Minnesota Attorney General Office. Donations to Elpis qualifies for an income tax deduction.
How Your Donation Changes Lives
The paths of our graduates show how your support can change lives:
- Ana successfully obtained employment during COVID-19 as a youth counselor at an out of school time program. She told us that her confidence and ability to work with the children as a youth counselor stems from facilitating Elpis’ Build It workshops for youth-serving groups.
- Alice is persevering at college and staying on track with her career goals even when the going gets rough as she copes with COVID-19 related stresses. She credits Elpis with giving her the skills and self-confidence to persevere.
- Marcellius began with Elpis as a woodworking enterprise intern. While at Elpis, Marcellus has pursued opportunities that will help move him towards an apprenticeship or similar work experience in his ultimate career interest, which is the home remodeling industry. Having a supportive work environment has given Marcellius what he needs to develop strong soft skills and self-confidence. While at Elpis, he also completed a driver’s education program, successfully obtained his driver’s license, and purchased a used car.
Other Ways to Donate
Your donation gift allows us to pay trainees for the hours they are at Elpis-whether they are working in our enterprises, working with our career counselor each week on their career plan, or working on certifications that will help make them more competitive when seeking employment.
When making an individual contribution, maximize its impact by seeing if your employer will match your contributions. You can find out more typically by contacting the human resources department at your employer. We will be glad to provide you with whatever information your employer may need to provide a matching contribution.
